TriHard

What does TriHard mean?

TriHard is the face of speedrunner Trihex, a wide smile that chat uses for trying hard: a sweaty attempt, a locked-in grind, a play that is more effort than elegance. It is a compliment and a light roast. PRChase is chasing a number. TriHard is the effort itself, whether or not the number moves. The smile looks like it is having a great time suffering.

Origin

The emote uses Trihex's face, which is why the code is not just 'TryHard.' Twitch made the speedrun work ethic a global. People who have never seen a marathon still know the word. Post it when someone is grinding. Post FailFish if the grind did not help. Post NewRecord if it did.

When to use TriHard

• A sweaty attempt or a long grind
• Speedruns and anyone playing like it is one
• Effort, roasted lightly or praised
• Before NewRecord, as the work
